Roemah Tjinema is an independent creative house and video production studio based in Bali, Indonesia. Derived from the classic spelling for "Cinema House,"

Roemah Tjinema is a creative production house dedicated to documenting the history and cultural heritage of the Indonesian archipelago. Led by Director Didith Pratama and Producer Miranthi Suwidhana, the studio specializes in high-impact cultural documentaries that serve as accurate, high-definition digital records.

We believe that documentary filmmaking is a vital instrument for preserving a nation's collective memory, ensuring that indigenous wisdom and historical truths remain accessible for generations to come.

2022: Historical Narratives & Sustainability

  • From The Ashes of The War (Gowa Tallo & Tellu Poccoe): An epic-length historical documentary focused on the Makassar Spice Route, exploring themes of hegemony, sovereignty, and maritime power.

  • Waste Management Web Series: A digital documentary series focusing on environmental preservation and sustainable solutions.

2023: Intangible Cultural Heritage (WBTB)

  • 6-Part Bali Heritage Mini-Series: A comprehensive digital archive documenting Bali’s Intangible Cultural Heritage and Cultural Conservation Sites, currently available as a public educational resource on YouTube.

2024: Revitalization & Narrative Development

  • Taman Narmada Revitalization Documentary: A production documenting the physical restoration of the Bale Terang and Bale Mukedas cultural heritage sites in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

  • Amerta Jiwa: The initial screenwriting and development phase exploring the history and philosophy of architectural legacy.

2025 - 2026: Production Excellence & Academic Integration

  • Museum Sarkofagus (2025): A documentary archiving the archaeological and spiritual significance of Balinese sarcophagi.

  • Bale Mengina (2025-2026): Documenting the living traditions of Karang Bajo, North Lombok. (Post-production completed in early February 2026).

  • 2026 Multi-Disciplinary Expansion: Focusing on the cultures of Java, Bali, and NTB through collaborative workshops involving Historians, Archaeologists, and Anthropologists.

  • Major Project NTB: Strategic preparation for a large-scale documentary feature set in West Nusa Tenggara.
